The Ontario division of the Canadian Cancer Society is celebrating Alliston’s Relay For Life.

Relay For Life chair Rose Bowen received the Provincial Award of Achievement in Volunteer Leadership.

Photographer Mark Godin received the Celebrating Youth Award, recognizing his effort and enthusiasm as a volunteer.

Joyce Mayne presented Bowen and Godin with their awards.

The community of Alliston gathered for their annual Relay for Life on June 10, 2011. It was an opportunity for friends, family and cancer survivors to celebrate, fight back, and give hope for a cure for cancer. This 12 hour over night event was attended by all ages that enjoyed a night of fun, laughter, and tears knowing that they were giving back.

Very special thanks to all the donations, sponsorships, and dedicated volunteers that made this Relay for Life such a huge success.
